The nationally ranked Hill College men’s basketball team is off to a tremendous start this season.

The Rebels opened up this week in the number 20 spot on the National Junior College Athletic Association national poll. With a 16-2 start, and a program with a history of success, it was not a difficult vote for the committee. The team won their conference opener last Monday against Grayson College, 93-74, and then faced off with Collin College on Wednesday, with a final score of 87-97.

Hill College is now 1-1 in a conference where three teams are in the Top 25 national rankings. Ranger College and South Plains College are the two other ranked teams in conference, and Trinity Valley Community College and Odessa College are the other Texas teams nationally ranked. Ultimately, there are no rollover wins in conference play.

Men’s basketball will be back on their home court in Hillsboro Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 7:30 p.m. They will face off with the McLennan Community College Highlanders in a competitive cross-town battle. Bring your friends and bring your family to come out and support our Rebels!
